Blonde or red for Winter....?

So it looks like we have made our way back to the beginning. What did you all think of our first blogs?! 

 It has been a pretty big week for me, I extended my birthday celebrations to span over 4 days. I was lucky enough to get Florence + the Machine tickets from all my friends. So Saturday night, quite possibly the coldest night of the year so far, we all rugged up and went and saw the woman we affectionately call Lady Flo at the Brisbane Riverstage. She blew me away, I never thought someone could sound better live then they do on their album!

Apart from thinking how ridiculous her voice was the whole time, all I could think about was how jealous I was of her long red hair. See many years ago, before I began the long journey of taking my hair blonde, I was a deep shade of red. And I am seeing now through new trends that red hair is the way to go for Winter. So I need all of your help!!

I am also going to try something new & fun this week! Such as... if you find a photo of a hairstyle or makeup style you think would look fabulous but are just worried you can't do it yourself at home! Post the picture on our Blog or send me the link & I will give it a try for you & post up the pictures on my next post!!! I want to be able to show you all that you can do it if you try :)

Behind the scenes...NEON Loving

Welcome to Tuesdays with….ME :)

 As this is my FIRST EVER blog I'll give you the heads up early, I'm a visual girl so writing will be minimal and pictures plentiful, you'll get to see all the behind the scenes shots from the Stefans Head Office as well as the amazing things that inspire me on a daily basis! My name is Senna-Jean & I am a graphic designer who works where the magic happens, the Design Department.

Before Stefan’s I was practically a professional student where I managed to get both a Degree in Industrial Design and a Diploma in Graphic Design. Away from work and study I love my pool, shopping online (my biggest addiction), planning and decorating parties for my friends, sewing amazing outfits for myself and hanging out and training with my handsome husband who just happens to be my personal trainer (convenient much :)).   

Although most people may just be easing into winter and preparing for the cold with scarves, jackets and boots (for me a must this year was a cute pair of fluffy earmuffs), here at Stefan’s we're already preparing for summer. Armed with our handy Pantone swatch book, we have decided on a bright, on trend colour scheme for one of our new special edition summer ranges and have begun producing the sample artwork.

Good Morning! I’m Andrea. Your Monday Blogger. Hopefully each week I can make your Monday blues a little more tolerable with some fun health, hair & beauty advice & inspiration! 

TEA DRINKERS HAVE MORE FUN

I was talking to a close friend this morning about what I was going to write for my first blog entry and before I could even finish explaining my thoughts he said ‘ just write about tea.’ I KNOW I may be a little bit more obsessed with tea than the average person but is that seriously the first thing people think of when they think of me?? Hi, my name is Jess-Rose and Im a tea-addict. I also love Hong Kong, New York, coffee, shoes, stationary shops, Sex and the City, Gilmore Girls and white dogs. Like Rachel, Dermalogica is my new best friend (thanks Suzana).

As I sit at my desk, (drinking green tea), I’m googling all about how good it is for me. Did you know the ancient Chinese use to treat headaches and depression with green tea? But what was of most interest to me was that there was a clinical study that revealed green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat!! Studies have found an association between consuming green tea and a reduced risk for several cancers, including, skin, breast, lung, colon, esophageal, and bladder. AND green tea can help detox your system which will improve your skin and help with anti-ageing (maybe this is one for you to try Rach).

So for all my friends who mock me, maybe its time you have a cup of tea with me. 

Drink up ladies! Because tea drinkers have more fun.

My lil plan for our readers (I’ve done my research)

1.  To get any benefits from tea, you need to drink 3 cups a day
2.  Let the tea sit for at least 3 minutes
3. Try to buy organic, traditional green tea from the Asian supermarkets
4.  Iced tea doesn’t count!!

What's better then beginning our new blog, then with a Birthday post! I usually love my birthday, but this year I feel a little differently as the next milestone for me to hit is 30....it might seem like an eternity from 22, but the years fly by these days.

Before I get into complaining about how I feel old (whilst stuffing my face with a birthday cupcake), I better introduce myself. My name is Rach Fleur and I just turned 22 today. I have a degree in Journalism, PR and Politics. Some might ask how I ended up working for the hair and beauty giant that is Stefan, but away from my degree in journalism and politics, I love all things beauty and fashion. I spend most spare of my time heading to music festivals and gigs, researching my next holiday destination - despite my severe lack of funds, and buying shoes that I would rather look at than learn to walk in. I was lucky enough to spend 5 months of last year travelling around Europe. Once I got back, I began the hard task of finding a full time job and was blessed to find a PR, Marketing and HR role here at Stefan.

Within my short time here I have learned so much about not only my career path, but hair and beauty. I have decided I look much better with a tan, that my short blonde hair can do much more then just be straightened and slightly messed about and that alcohol based cleansers are going to age me beyond my years...which leads me to my first blog post.

I told our head make-up artist Suzana that I use products that a certain Katy Perry endorses (I will leave you to your beauty and celebrity knowledge to figure that one out) and she nearly leaned across the desk and strangled me. Not only will this product, which has a high alcohol content, dry out my skin but prematurely age my skin. It was from that day onwards that I now only stock my bathroom cabinet with Dermalogical products. I am using the Oil/Normal Skin range which has dramatically changed my skin. Although it takes about 10 minutes longer then the three stop process of my old products, the 6 product process (PreCleanse, Special Cleanse, Daily Micro Exfoliator, Toner, Active Moist and Eye Cream)  has made me actually enjoy waking up and viewing my skin. I no longer get dry spots, weird red patches and my pores have somewhat refined. Also, I have made Suzana refrain from hurting me.

So now that I am reading what I wrote, I don't mind too much that it's my birthday because I have begun taking the steps to better look after my skin. Least when I hit 30 I wont care too much.......well hopefully :)
